My Love and Friends

This tattoo means a lot to me. I got it with my best friends to represent us as sisters—and to honor the man we all lost.
On April 1st, 2012, we lost a great man in our lives due to a jet skiing accident. Matthew Golding was my fiancé and their brother and friend. He meant a lot to all of us—and to so many others.
This tattoo holds even deeper meaning for me because I almost lost my son in that same accident. He survived because Matthew gave him the only life vest they had, and when the accident happened, Matthew instructed him to take the key and go get help. I am forever grateful to him for that and miss him dearly.
We got this tattoo to make sure we always remember Matthew and the love we have for one another. That day will always be one of the hardest I’ve ever faced—and the days and weeks after weren’t any easier.
When his sister—our best friend—suggested we get these tattoos, I was skeptical at first. But it was well crafted, well taken care of, and now I feel fortunate to carry this memory with me forever.
