Life is Complicated
I couldn’t pick between two of mine. The one on my upper arm is of a beautiful woman who has a black eye, a busted lip, and stunning blue eyes—with the saying, “We accept the love we think we deserve.” No matter what happens in life, that saying will always be true. No matter who it is, it’s a saying that is very hard to ignore and really makes you look inward—to what you are accepting because you believe you deserve it, and what you may actually deserve.
My other one is on my thigh, and it is purely about my birth. It has my birthstone in the middle, my birth time, my birth flower, and the saying, “You know my name, not my story.” Even if you know everything about my birth or my name, it doesn’t mean you know what it took to make me the person I am today. That will always matter to me.
