When I was a junior in undergrad, I decided I wanted my first tattoo. I wasn’t sure what I wanted, but as I was going through the year, I kept coming back to iris flowers. They symbolize wisdom, valor, and faith—characteristics I not only strive for but ones I hold in high regard.
As that year was coming to a close, I was dealing with physical, mental, and emotional pain, and I knew for the sake of my sanity, I needed something beautiful and meaningful to hold onto.
